17/11/15 - NO CHANGE TO H&S LAW FOR SELF-EMPLOYED WORKERS IN CONSTRUCTION

Construction work has been exempted from the new Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 (General Duties of Self-Employed Persons) (Prescribed Undertakings) Regulations 2015 which means that self-employed construction workers are still required to comply with all relevant health and safety law.  more info

Build UK - the new organisation formed from the merger of the UK Contractor's Group and the National Specialist Contractor's Council - members met for the first time on 21 October and unanimously agreed a number of policy proposals to move forward on key industry issues including pre-qualification and payment.  more info
