Gowanbank Campus project working for City Building Glasgow

A two year project where the undertaking was initially to install heavy railings, perimeter fencing, sports fencing and stair railings.

Working alongside the main contractor Wright and Maclennan were to undertake the main works and add glass screens, stainless and glass balustrading, roof edge protection, bow top railings and gates, Grab rails to the internal stairs, roof access ladders, Gym hall protection covers,  Illuminated Corten signs and numerous gates with Corten name plates.

Gary Russell (Director) managed and controlled the works from the factory and base in Kirknewton supported by Frazer Russell (Production Manager) who dealt with the CAD details and production issues.

Over the project all installation teams had different parts to play in the project “Gary Russel Said” all aspects carried out to our usual high standards.

Project turned out to be an interesting one with consideration being taken with various site levels and slopes, very few heavy railing panels were to be similar sizes with fixings being reviewed as the project developed, one of the challenging areas was how to fix the single American white Oak grab rail to the top of the recessed wall area on the internal stairs but not show any fixings, this was overcome by designing and manufacturing a under support to suit the application. Darren Mullen Quoted “was a challenge to install but the client was more than happy with the outcome”

Highland colour coaters based in Cumbernauld carried out all the colourgalv coating for the project.
